By appending another ZSphere as a SubTool, the model can be broken up into multiple retopology parts in the same tool file. Did you merge the arms and body groups as suggested? I think the easiest way to combine the body and arm meshes would be to use Dynamesh. Try the clay brush with ZAdd turned on, blend the areas together then smooth. Note: with this method there is no need to select a mesh through the Rigging sub-palette!
